New Definition of Entertaiment

Entertaiment refers to activities that are designed for the enjoyment of the mind and senses, such as music, theatre, dance, games and story-telling. Entertainment is a significant activity for children, who often imitate adult performances and develop motor skills (9). The power of stories to entertain is reflected in the way the Scheherazade story has inspired composers like Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski, director Pasolini and even an innovative video game.

The article provides a new definition of Entertainment, stemming from diverse definitions and based on bibliographical research, qualitative research proceedings and an original systematic process that resulted in more solid entertainment academic discussions and clearer entertainment materializations.
